Greetings. This is Archer. I hope that you are all faring well after the recent abductions. But it is concerning that and many other strange things in this realm which I wish to speak of today. I refer in particular to that book which Mythra and I have discovered underneath this town.
Last month, I have received a quill. How I came to obtain this item is best left unsaid, but this quill will write upon no surface save for that book. A few short lines scribbled onto that book’s pages have yielded me no results, but perhaps defter hands than mine can reveal its secrets. To that end I have left the quill within the room where the book lies, so that any denizen of this world might use it freely. I believe that, considering the recently published end to Mr. F’s woeful tale, we are meant to rewrite the story of this world. As such, it seems fair that all of us play a part in its completion.
Also, and this is very important! I have left a second quill there. This quill is very special and is quite a pretty shade of blue. By no means should you touch this second quill. Only true kings may use it and no other.
That is all.
[ OOC: This post refers to an especially significant quest reward from last month which might have a strong impact on the endgame. It’s a magical quill that can only work on the book found a while back. Feel free to let your characters use this quill as you will, regardless of whether or not you have CR with Tristan! Just remember to report to the mods if your character writes anything substantial with it!
Also the second bit of this network post is just a flimsy ruse to ICly keep a certain someone from making some very irresponsible decisions RE: the quill. Your characters are perfectly free to touch that second quill (it’s just a random goose feather, and has now been stolen) if you want, or even call him out on the weirdness of it all. That feather is otherwise practically useless and just there as a silly decoy.
ETA: OOC plotting here and a log for threading out book shenanigans is up! ]

Stick to your day job of being a knight.

As you wish, Master.
I am certain that the others can compose far better verse.
[ Except that's not really the point— ]
no subject
It could be either that or making our own ending to it.
Does the blue quill determine who is king of chroma?? Or do only our resident royals and lords get to use it?
[ Hey hey guess who is also an idiot. ]
no subject
But as to your other point, I find your perspective to be quite sound as well.
Although I would be of no use in that matter.
Happy endings are not my forte.

Red Saber is an empreror.
Shen Qingqiu is a peak lord.
Somnus is a king.
[ Noooooooooot mentioning Berkut, nope nope nope. ]
Would any of them qualify to use the quill?
Maybe it has more of a guarantee to provide a “happy ending” depending on who writes it.
[ She’s going to try her hand at it anyway with the regular quill but still... ]
no subject
Well, I do not believe so.
That quill was meant for one person alone—a great and powerful ruler, who ruled a great and powerful land…
[ Insert several more flattering adjectives about Artoria without actually referring to Artoria here— ]
—But as to the matter of happy endings, that might well be the case.
My fate has long been sealed. But for many others in this world, there is hope yet.

Ugh there are just too many puzzle pieces to keep focused on.
[ Sure is frustrating. ]
You’re right, not everyone gets a happy ending. And not everyone is deserving of one. [ Like herself, but whatever, they already talked about it. ] What’s done is done. We can see if using this book can help with making the town better as it is now.
Like color restored, the chicken returning on its own to visit those with strong bonds, or the well being a free portal back and forth into our worlds.
[ That’s what she will write, anyway. ]
no subject
But maybe…not in public. He’ll just avoid addressing that for now. ]
That would be quite the wonderful ending indeed.
But what of you and Pyra?
That book might accomplish that which I could not.
[ Like her quest for him, for example. The thought did occur to him to use the book for that, but… ]
no subject
But also, she doesn’t follow his next question. ]
What about us? Accomplish what?
no subject
[ Although does that quest even matter now that she's running around a lot lately? Not that he still doesn't take that quest dead seriously. ]
Something made of light.
no subject
That’s your quest. Better finish it before the trees gobble up the town.
no subject
[ Although he's thinking more of his alarming tendency to lose his memories as of late. Never mind if the book gives them hope or the fact that the color of the well is restored—no optimism allowed here!! ]
But should anything happen I must ask a favor of you.
No, never mind that. I shall pursue your quest with all haste.
no subject
[ Like... why write it out that he might need a favor only to also write never mind?? ]
no subject
I should not speak of it here.
[ He knows she's going to pursue the issue no matter what, anyway, but at least he can try to buy himself some time here. ]
Right now, we must focus all our energies upon uncovering the secrets of that book.
no subject
[ A part of her wonders if he wrote that just to lead her on into seeing her in person again. Another part of her thinks that he's.... not that cunning. ]
I'm going to write in the book.
Later.
