Greetings. This is Archer. I hope that you are all faring well after the recent abductions. But it is concerning that and many other strange things in this realm which I wish to speak of today. I refer in particular to that book which Mythra and I have discovered underneath this town.
Last month, I have received a quill. How I came to obtain this item is best left unsaid, but this quill will write upon no surface save for that book. A few short lines scribbled onto that book’s pages have yielded me no results, but perhaps defter hands than mine can reveal its secrets. To that end I have left the quill within the room where the book lies, so that any denizen of this world might use it freely. I believe that, considering the recently published end to Mr. F’s woeful tale, we are meant to rewrite the story of this world. As such, it seems fair that all of us play a part in its completion.
Also, and this is very important! I have left a second quill there. This quill is very special and is quite a pretty shade of blue. By no means should you touch this second quill. Only true kings may use it and no other.
That is all.
[ OOC: This post refers to an especially significant quest reward from last month which might have a strong impact on the endgame. It’s a magical quill that can only work on the book found a while back. Feel free to let your characters use this quill as you will, regardless of whether or not you have CR with Tristan! Just remember to report to the mods if your character writes anything substantial with it!
Also the second bit of this network post is just a flimsy ruse to ICly keep a certain someone from making some very irresponsible decisions RE: the quill. Your characters are perfectly free to touch that second quill (it’s just a random goose feather, and has now been stolen) if you want, or even call him out on the weirdness of it all. That feather is otherwise practically useless and just there as a silly decoy.
ETA: OOC plotting here and a log for threading out book shenanigans is up! ]

I…should hope not. If she ever discovers the ruse she will come after me and no one else.
[ He knows she isn’t inclined to involve innocents in her affairs, but who even knows anymore. Hopefully Xie Lian’s swordplay will be enough to fend her off, just in case.
He sighs. ]
I am sorry. I do not wish to involve you in my sordid personal affairs.

I don't mind, really...do you need help? You make it sound as if she might actually try to attack you.

[ Picking on him, more so. ]
But I am used to it by now, sadly enough… [ Which means that this is totally fine…!!! ]

Well, I'm sure everything will work out somehow or other. But if you do need help, don't hesitate to ask! It isn't good to try to shoulder everything by yourself.
[says the god who's constantly trying to shoulder everything by himself.]

I do appreciate the offer…
[ And he knows Xie Lian will butt in regardless. He’s really just too nice like that… ]
You are truly kind…despite all the misfortunes which follow me, you still insist on helping me regardless.

Besides, I've seen my fair share of misfortunes myself, and I find that troubles are better weathered with company when you can manage it.

That is so…but I’ve a penchant for dragging others into ruin, should I prove too careless.
[ Which happens way more often than he likes. ]

[He knows! It's bad!]

[ Should he thank Xie Lian? Or reassure him that he doesn’t have to? He’s definitely going to do everything he can to keep from subjecting Mordred to a punishment that cruel.
And yet…it also feels as though he’s walking on a tightrope with Xie Lian, and at any minute now he might fall into a hole in the safety net, which is there because of course it is. He decides to pick the safest possible answer here—one which he hopes will communicate his complete neutrality regarding the subject of Xie Lian’s cooking: ]
That will not be necessary.
