Hi, this is Joshua.

After we did one of the quests, Estelle and I found a crate full of live chickens in our house. We figured that a steady supply of eggs is probably going to be more useful in the long run than a few meals' worth of meat, so we're working on getting them settled in here.

[ Also, let's be real, eating them just seemed too mean after the chocobos decided these were clearly their tiny adopted offspring. ]

I'm not sure what the yield is going to look like yet, so we haven't figured out how much we'll have to share, or if they're even going to taste like anything yet. But in the meantime, while I think we've figured out how to get the yard fenced in well enough to prevent any escape artists, if you happen to see any of them wandering loose, we'd appreciate it if you could bring them back or let us know so we can collect them.

No, unfortunately, and intrusion without detection was something of a job skill for me, so I have a very good grasp on what to look for.

Seems like very few of us are still following those paths anymore. No use for it here.

We seem to have a lot of capable people here, though. Given what's out there, that's probably a good thing.

It begs the question whether or not it was done on purpose.

Taking a census and looking for patterns in the possible selection process would probably be wise. Not the highest priority, but one to consider now that we're better supplied and have been getting some fallbacks in place.

Not a bad idea either. At the very least figuring out what people are capable of will be an asset the next time something dangerous happens.

Which will probably be sooner than we'd like it to be.

No to the first, yes to the second...and I feel like Estelle's been tripping on a lot more stuff than usual. Which sounds kind of weird, but it gives me a bad feeling.

She's not the only one. I've had things moved in my house, things I know I set down elsewhere. I can only think that something's definitely happening, but there's no evidence of anyone nearby. No one's been in my space but me.

Under normal circumstances, I'd hesitate to say it sounds like a ghost, but this place has proven to be pretty weird already.

The place I grew up in had some pretty strong superstitions, but I've seen a lot worse than ghosts in my lifetime. I'd sooner assume some kind of invisibility skill.

I'd assume a person using an invisibility spell would be more likely to be caught, by some mistake or another.

[ He wouldn't, but he does not credit most people with that level of talent for sneaking, tbh. ]
