[ User #000033 apparently won the text color lottery, because you can hardly tell his color is there. The very opposite of eye-searing! ]
Hi, this is Joshua.
After we did one of the quests, Estelle and I found a crate full of live chickens in our house. We figured that a steady supply of eggs is probably going to be more useful in the long run than a few meals' worth of meat, so we're working on getting them settled in here.
[ Also, let's be real, eating them just seemed too mean after the chocobos decided these were clearly their tiny adopted offspring. ]
I'm not sure what the yield is going to look like yet, so we haven't figured out how much we'll have to share, or if they're even going to taste like anything yet. But in the meantime, while I think we've figured out how to get the yard fenced in well enough to prevent any escape artists, if you happen to see any of them wandering loose, we'd appreciate it if you could bring them back or let us know so we can collect them.

Neither of us were here, unfortunately. I broke down the crate to use in building a fence around the yard for them, but I do still have the wood. The chickens are black, five altogether - one rooster, four hens.

Regular chickens, then, and it seems they intend for you to keep and breed them, with those numbers. I wonder if we could find out where the wood came from - and the crate, of course.

I'm no botanist, but we can at least get some samples of the wood from the forest and see how they look in comparison.

That might be difficult with the tools we have here, though I'm no botanist, myself. I'm mostly curious about whether the crate was assembled here, or if it simply appeared through magic. Would magical wood have a different appearance? I confess I do not know, but I feel it must.

I don't know if it would look different or if it would just...feel different? But I'm no expert on magic, either.
