How sure are you that you're still alive? Back where you're from I mean.

Like on a scale from 1 to 10. Where 1 is "I definitely died" and 10 is "I'm definitely still alive" and everything in between.

I don't know why anybody would lie about being a ghost.

Me neither. And it's not even the weirdest thing I've heard someone claim to be since I got here.

So far? "Minor god" for one. "Lion turned human is another.

I can't even keep track of what's weird and not anymore, honestly.

Who knows. That'd be pretty weird too. I mean, not the weirdest. But weird.

We are stuck in a colorless town with no other people besides the ones in the well. That's probably fair.

Yup. And honestly, not the strangest thing that's ever happened to me. Like, by far the most annoying and infuriating, but not the strangest. So I guess there's that.

What happened that was stranger than this?
A totally colorless town surrounded by a gray ocean and a forest and devoid of native people.

[lonered]

Finding a giant partially sentient blue lion robot warship underground in a cave, flying away in it through an intergalactic wormhole to land right in the middle of an alien war that'd been raging for 10,000 years, finding 4 more lions of various colors so we could join them together to form a giant fighting robot warrior.

Then there was the time we had to get swallowed by a giant alien creature so we could harvest some of a mineral that it made in its digestive track.

The time that we went to another reality and a guy who looked exactly like my closest friend was Swedish for some reason.

[There's a long pause as he just squints at all of that.]

What's space like?

Big. Like... really inconceivably big. But it's beautiful too. The different planets and systems.

And mostly it's full of good people who deserve to live in peace and freedom.

[glaciers]

I guess there aren't any limits on space.

I'm glad to hear it's mostly good people.

It is. And that's why the war is important. People deserve to be able to just live their lives.

[glaciers]

Is the war why you think you might be dead?

[lonered]

In a general sense, yeah. I was mid-battle.

[glaciers]

Hopefully whatever happened, you're still alive.
