USER: #C1BA57 - THE LIBRARY

( COLOR )

This is Cairngorm.

I've noticed that books have writing in them again, which means the library should be back to it's original form. It'll be more useful to everyone if it's organized and has librarians in charge of maintaining it. I'm used to doing work like that, so I don't mind organizing it, but it might be more time efficient to ask if there are others with the skills to help.

Firstly, we should familiarize ourselves with the restored materials. I've only been able to find useless books about talking animals so far, but one of you must have found something other than that by now. It would take years for me to read everything by myself, so if you could summarize any books you've found and return them to the library, you would save us all some time.

Secondly, has anyone considered keeping record of what's happening here? We should start creating archives for future reference now that we're able to. That's assuming we'll be stuck here for however much longer. There are other things like records of the plants and animals we come across that the library would benefit from as well, if you have any. We should be keeping all information like this in one place.

If you have other things in mind the library should have, or are familiar with any of the texts you find, let me know. I'd like to start working on this as soon as possible.

I wouldn't mind helping you organize the library, Caingorm-san. I was hoping to have a look at the books there anyway. And I have some books I found around town to add to the shelves.

It's not exactly a record, but I've been working on a bestiary for the forum. I could transcribe the information into a physical book with drawings, if you think that would be useful, too?

I've been keeping a journal of sorts- but it's a digital one rather than written, so I doubt it's useful now. Regardless, I'm used to paperwork, so I could help keep record things.

I hadn't realized the text had come back! I'll be sure to pick up a few books. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, so I can definitely help you knock out what I can...!

well I've gone through a lot of the library
but summarizing sounds like a lot of work
especially when they're all fairy tales

[How many books has she gone through? Too many. It helps that psychometry means she can read one book in less than one minute. And that after a while, she'd started reading out of pure spite and maybe a touch of desperation, trying to find anything that wasn't a fairy tale.]

Oh, absolutely! Maybe we can arrange a log on the forum of sorts in the future for important details? Something to think about, anyway.

What all have you read so far? Anything important to note??

It's quick and easy to access for people familiar with the laptops, but I see your point. In that case, making a physical copy for people who feel more comfortable with a book version will be one of my priorities!

Sure it is. When I keep notes back home, I usually have sketches for references, too. I can draw a rough idea of what these creatures look like, going off descriptions I get from other people.

I've been taking out a book per day, mostly to help me fall asleep at night, but I fear so far they're all the same - children's stories meant to teach morals. A vast, odd collection to be sure.

But keeping a record is a very good idea, and I believe I shall start doing so immediately. I've already been keeping track of people's abilities and talents.

something like that
And it’s easy stuff anyway so i don’t reread it

[But properly with her own two eyes.]

What else would you call them?
Baby books
Stories for kids

[His text is a dark blue.]

I'll stop by and help you read through them, see if there's any records or anything we can find.

I'm going to assume that the restored books have something to do with last month's quest, too. There's gotta be something more we can do to restore the information we need.

Ah, the three little pigs? That book isn't entirely true, amico. Sometimes stories exaggerate the truth... a lot of the books in the library will probably be like that. They're meant to entertain more so than hold facts.

This is good news indeed, Cairngorm-dono.

I will certainly assist with reading in order to categorize what books are there. It sounds like a strange collection so far, indeed.

And should I come across any other written material I shall deliver them to you.

Indeed, it seems we have found more questions than answers. I'll continue reading, just in case, there's a lost treasure.

As for making a copy, I'd be happy to do so. It is my duty to serve all.

To stimulate the imagination, mostly. It helps with critical thinking, and fills someone's time with the words of someone who put a lot of love into the world they put on paper. Sometimes they make people happy, or sad, or they'll make people laugh. It really depends on the genre of the book. Most stories actually aren't factual, but they're amazing reads nonetheless.

That said, wolves are real, but they don't generally have the lung capacity to blow a house down.

Is that so?
Perhaps it has something to do with what worlds we are from.

That is, some of the people I have spoken to are familiar with the history I know, even though it sounds like their lives are very different from what is ordinary to me.
Maybe the stories in the books are the same way.

We might yet find a book with a story you know.

[Although, as soon as he writes that he has a bad feeling about it somehow, wondering what it would mean if that did happen...]

I guess I'd be pretty young compared to a gem...what age do you guys stop considering a gem "young" anyway? Just out of curiosity.

The animals here look similar to the ones I've seen in my world, but some of them have extra limbs or other traits that they didn't before. Like wings or sharp teeth.
