USER: #C1BA57 - THE LIBRARY
( COLOR )
This is Cairngorm.
I've noticed that books have writing in them again, which means the library should be back to it's original form. It'll be more useful to everyone if it's organized and has librarians in charge of maintaining it. I'm used to doing work like that, so I don't mind organizing it, but it might be more time efficient to ask if there are others with the skills to help.
Firstly, we should familiarize ourselves with the restored materials. I've only been able to find useless books about talking animals so far, but one of you must have found something other than that by now. It would take years for me to read everything by myself, so if you could summarize any books you've found and return them to the library, you would save us all some time.
Secondly, has anyone considered keeping record of what's happening here? We should start creating archives for future reference now that we're able to. That's assuming we'll be stuck here for however much longer. There are other things like records of the plants and animals we come across that the library would benefit from as well, if you have any. We should be keeping all information like this in one place.
If you have other things in mind the library should have, or are familiar with any of the texts you find, let me know. I'd like to start working on this as soon as possible.

It's not exactly a record, but I've been working on a bestiary for the forum. I could transcribe the information into a physical book with drawings, if you think that would be useful, too?
no subject
Since I don't know much about technology, I'm not sure how reliable keeping the information on the computers is. I would make a physical copy if I were you. But there are probably other individuals like me who have never seen any animals like the ones here, so the drawings would be necessary... are you sure thats something you are capable of
no subject
Sure it is. When I keep notes back home, I usually have sketches for references, too. I can draw a rough idea of what these creatures look like, going off descriptions I get from other people.
no subject
We don't have anything like the animals here on my planet so I thought the animals here were
Some degree of normal
Despite looking so awful
Are you familiar with most of the animals they seem to be related to
no subject
The animals here look similar to the ones I've seen in my world, but some of them have extra limbs or other traits that they didn't before. Like wings or sharp teeth.

I hadn't realized the text had come back! I'll be sure to pick up a few books. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, so I can definitely help you knock out what I can...!
no subject
But I'll agree, reading is a good pass-time, so I'm relieved the text is back. I was beginning to wonder what I was going to do with my time other than avoid shadows and furniture
no subject
What all have you read so far? Anything important to note??
no subject
But anyway, I read a book yesterday about "three pigs and a wolf".
The wolf could blow houses down...
I've never heard of animals being that strong before so it was shocking

well I've gone through a lot of the library
but summarizing sounds like a lot of work
especially when they're all fairy tales
[How many books has she gone through? Too many. It helps that psychometry means she can read one book in less than one minute. And that after a while, she'd started reading out of pure spite and maybe a touch of desperation, trying to find anything that wasn't a fairy tale.]
no subject
But is that what you call books that only seem to be about talking animals and "princesses"
"Fairy tales"?
no subject
And it’s easy stuff anyway so i don’t reread it
[But properly with her own two eyes.]
What else would you call them?
Baby books
Stories for kids
no subject
We had normal ones about geology and astrology and strategy.
Not
Stuff like "Little Red Riding Hood" or whatever

But keeping a record is a very good idea, and I believe I shall start doing so immediately. I've already been keeping track of people's abilities and talents.
no subject
It's concerning there's no books about geology or history...
It makes me wonder why the inhabitants before us thought there was no need for any other type of book than this nonsense
Nonetheless, a record like that is already useful. It'd be a good resource considering how different everyone is and how many weird tasks we're asked to do
Would you mind making a copy for the library?
no subject
As for making a copy, I'd be happy to do so. It is my duty to serve all.
no subject
I'm hoping that there will be at least something valuable
At first I thought surely not every book could be about the same topic
But with everyone saying that's all they've found its a bit
Discouraging
It's not like there is much else better to do than read though

I'll stop by and help you read through them, see if there's any records or anything we can find.
I'm going to assume that the restored books have something to do with last month's quest, too. There's gotta be something more we can do to restore the information we need.
no subject
Do you mean to say that you think completing more quests will change the content of the books?
Like to things that are useful
no subject
I don't know if the books we have will change again but we should consider the possibility. Either that or we'll find ones with useful information elsewhere.]
no subject
Probably nothing is outside the realm of possibility in this awful place
If other books exist with better information don't you think we would have found them by now

This is good news indeed, Cairngorm-dono.
I will certainly assist with reading in order to categorize what books are there. It sounds like a strange collection so far, indeed.
And should I come across any other written material I shall deliver them to you.

These really are the strangest books I've ever seen
It seems like some people are already familiar with them though
no subject
Perhaps it has something to do with what worlds we are from.
That is, some of the people I have spoken to are familiar with the history I know, even though it sounds like their lives are very different from what is ordinary to me.
Maybe the stories in the books are the same way.
We might yet find a book with a story you know.
[Although, as soon as he writes that he has a bad feeling about it somehow, wondering what it would mean if that did happen...]
no subject
I doubt we'll find any text I'm familiar with
Or are you trying to say that it seems like people have actually read about your life before?
