User: #FFDF00 - Bestiary, an update, and an offering!!
Hi, Chroma! This is Izuku Midoriya. We got a lot of new people since the last time I posted, so I thought I'd introduce myself again in case we haven't met yet. Anyway, there's a few things I wanted to discuss.
[Oddly enough, even though the newcomers' texts have all gained color recently, Izuku's is still the default black.]
1. I've finished the bestiary of the creatures we've come across in the forest & town so far. If there's anything missing, let me know and I'll add it in. I'll do my best to keep this updated and open for anyone to access on the forum from now on, in case anyone goes into the forest and comes across any of these again. Even if we keep running into new creatures, knowing what to expect can still help a lot.
You can find the information here: ╭( ・ㅂ・)و✧ (ooc: pretend it's a link to another forum post)
So far there's just this digital version, but I can also work on a physical copy to put in the library if people want that? It'll be easier to include drawings of these creatures that way.
2. It looks like there's a clear trend in the kind of creatures that we're running into now. The majority of them are from some kind of mythology, all from different cultures. A friend of mine was able to analyze some samples brought back from the forest, and it turns out that these creatures don't have a history, as if they were created solely for us to run into while we're in there.
Right now, the bestiary only includes the ones we know for sure are around, but after hearing what my friend had to say, I think it would be a good idea to add a section for other well known mythological creatures as a precaution.
What do you guys think?
3. That brings me to the next point! If you let me borrow something of yours last time, you can come pick it up now! Or I could bring it to you, whatever works.
4. I have a manual charger now! If you have a small electronic device that you want charged, just let me know and I'd be happy to help you out! I think it's only enough to work on cellphones and things like that, but that's better than nothing, right?

As far as "monsters" go, we also have the Risen - human-like beasts with no heart, soul or mind.

What are they like? I'm hearing mixed stories about the unicorns right now.
You don't mind me asking a bunch of questions about the Risen, do you?
[She can probably imagine him poised with pen and notebook at the ready.]

Ask all you like about the Risen. I've fought more than enough to know plenty.

The Shepherds managed to tame the pegasai and unicorns enough to ride them? That's awesome! I'm guessing they're a lot nicer in your world than some of the other legends I'm hearing about make them out to be?
What are the dragons like? If you've heard anything about them?
If the Risen don't have any hearts, souls, or minds, how do they even live? Does that mean they're not actually living creatures?

As for the dragons of legend, they're as big as a mountain and impossibly strong, with more eyes and teeth than they could possibly need.
The Risen, we suspect, were created with magic. What type or how is still unknown. But they're not living in the sense you and I are - they don't need to eat or breathe. All it takes is a good, hard strike to destroy them, like a heavy blast of magic or a powerful strike of the sword. Then they begin to evaporate and leave nothing behind.

Do the dragons have fire magic of any kind? They're known in some cultures to breathe fire. And what was the manakete you mentioned earlier?
How many of the Risen are there? If they're created by magic, then there must only be a limited amount of them around, right?

It was once told in legends they possessed healing powers, and as a result they were ridden by special warriors with healing magic, but since then we've come to realize they're really just ordinary animals.
Dragons of old were said to have magic of all kinds, fire included. They were limitless beings. As for the manakete, they're a race of dragons, you could say, but they're more like humans. They're also extremely rare, some thought to be long extinct. Using a certain stone, they can turn into their powerful dragon form or stay in a human form. As a result of their dragon blood, they age incredibly slowly - they can look like children for centuries.
As for the Risen, their numbers can be anywhere as small as five and as great as thirty.

You said you've met one of the manakete before, right? What do they think of humans?
no subject
She had been captured by some slavers when we found her, and they'd taken her stone so she couldn't transform. Once we freed her, she vowed to stay with us and aid us in battle.

The manakete sound kind of like the gems from Cairngorm-san's world, though. Apparently even those that are hundreds of years old are still considered really young.

[It would hurt too much. He's been alone for a good chunk of his life. Why would he want to lose his friends and be alone again for much, much longer?]
no subject
You can imagine. Unlike Nowi, she appears slightly older, and does seem to be more wise than her as well. Although she isn't always the mature one - I have caught her blowing raspberries at those she's displeased at.
no subject
That must have been horrible for her. Is she okay now?
[As okay as anyone who's just lost all her friends can be, anyway.]

[He's only heard of a couple of Maribelle's friends, but if they're all as noble and honest as she is, then Izuku thinks the manakete are in good hands.]
Is there anything else you think I should note about the Risen? Things that we'd have to look out for if we had to fight them here.

What about the dragons of your world? I know you haven't run into any aside from the mankete, but I figure if this place is making its own creatures from myths, we might as well be prepared.

Let's hope we don't ever have to fight the dragons from your world...other legends I've heard of at least say they're defeatable.

Can you tell me more about the swords and the Fire Emblem artifact? I know we're probably not going to find them around here, but I can still include a note about them anyway.

It sounds like it could be trouble in the wrong hands, though.
