i. Post-er Boy for Fearlessness

[Unlike others, Prompto's as cheery and invested as ever, so it's hard even for him to pin down anything that might be wrong.

But something definitely is. Forum user #FFF59D, one of the yellowest of yellows, makes a post that seems perfectly reasonable to him.]

so you guys remember that near death quest that everyone was 100% sure was a bad idea??

i'm open for it, on a couple conditions.

i. whatever you do doesn't actually HURT me, i'm not here to get laid up in bed for weeks or even hours! who has time for that??? you can try to scare me or whatever or push me off a roof but if i get more than a bruise we're not friends anymore. (╬ Ò ‸ Ó)

ii. you're gonna owe me a favor, since that's only fair, right?? there aren't that many yellows in town and you can't do the quest w/o a yellow. you can go hunting with me in the woods or smth but if that isn't your speed, we can negotiate!

it doesn't have to be paid right away anyway, doesn't look like any of us are going anywhere anytime soon. u know it's been almost a year since i got here? and some ppl have been here even longer! wild, right?

ii. Man of (Open) Action

[SO THAT POST WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA, but you know who doesn't seem to think so? Prompto. He's not worried about anything at all, it seems, not even the danger he's putting himself in all on his own just hanging out up on the roofs of Bluo.

He appears to be taking pictures of the structural damage from the dragon attacks with a bird's-eye view, maybe to aid in repairs. April showers and all that, and Bluo's an easy district to flood or worse in a heavy rain. Never mind that it's already rainy this week and the wet roofs aren't doing his physical safety any favors.

Prompto's usually less reckless than this. What on Eos is going on with him?]

i've survived worse than getting pushed off a roof and i TOTALLY thought that would kill me!

And if you don't want to be hurt, finding one that is tall enough isn't gonna work.

That is awfully courageous of you, Prompto-san, if somewhat ill-advised. Should you trust the wrong person there might be grave consequences.

However, I do have a proposition that should be mostly safe, if you're willing to listen.

Personally, I believe it might be best to discuss it with you first, since you're the one who is potentially risking his life. However, there is a small chance letting you know in advance might have it disqualified for quest purposes, so I leave the choice in your hands.

Also, I would rather keep the honorific, if you wouldn't mind it terribly. Would "Prompto-kun" be more to your liking, perhaps?

[You know who else can climb around on rooftops? Akira, that's who. And with most of his more mild-mannered traits thrown out the window, sneaking around on rooftops and seeing what trouble there is to get into seems to be his new favorite activities.

When he sees Prompto up there, he comes up behind him, near silently, and then claps him on the shoulder - overly friendly, maybe, given that they barely know each other, but all at the moment Akira doesn't really care.]

[Prompto jumps, of course, but when he turns and sees it's Akira, he just laughs. Surprise just melts into pleasant recognition; the fear response never arrives.]

Depends on your definition of 'good!' I got some cool angles up here, but mostly I'm seeing we still got a lot of work to do.

[He offers Akira the camera to show him what he means: missing roof tiles, precarious-looking bridges, charred and leaking eaves.]

Whatcha doing up here yourself? Ninja training?

I'm a thief, not a ninja. [They're completely different things, he'll have Prompto know! But he's not far off.] It's more fun to use rooftops than streets. Keeps my skills sharp.

[This really should be more concerning than it is to Rin. He knows Prompto can be... excitable but he hasn't really seemed reckless, even during the dragon attack.

But it seems like Rin's empathy is a bit off. It feels better when he's around Nyx, Kohaku or Karou but when they're not around he knows something is wrong.

He just doesn't care.]

you wouldnt actually get hurt but having a giant blue fire ball launched at your face would probably still be pretty scary?

[She's been unable to find any kind of peace over the last few days.

The loss of her ability to feel calm has exhausted Berserker. She's irritable and tired from the strain, her thoughts almost incomprehensible even to herself. All of her misery and self-doubt and loneliness are only amplified. So it just enrages her to see Prompto standing on a building, the way she had just last month when she so stupidly believed she could fly.

For a Heroic Spirit, supernaturally powerful as she is, it's easy to jump up onto the roof and join him. Except it's really not cheerfully that she does so, instead throwing her arms up into the air in frustration and chastising him with several sharp groans.]

UUH! Uhh?! [Just what the hell does he think he's doing up here? Doesn't he know he's going to get hurt? What kind of stupid behavior is this?]

[Even if Prompto can't feel fear, he can still feel surprise. When Fran lands, he jumps back, and as he does, his camera vanishes in a flash of magic to be replaced with a gun. His empty hand drops with purpose--as if towards a hip holster that clearly isn't there--but then she just starts, like, gesticulating at him, without words, just zombie-like grunts.

He stares at her for a while, brows drawn into a sharp frown and feet planted awkwardly on the slant of the roof, before he finally straightens and relaxes his arm.]

Uhh... sorry? I didn't catch that. Did I drop something?

[He sidles towards the edge of the roof with his hands behind his back, utterly incautious.]

[The sight of the gun makes her bristle, even if it won't be able to damage her as she is now. Berserker's eyes stay on it even as she continues to scold Prompto, unwilling to rest until she solves what she sees as a very big problem.

She takes a step closer, her voice and her gestures both becoming more exaggerated and emphatic. Each grunt is a little more punctuated, as the longer he refuses to listen the more agitated she becomes.

A grunt. He's being very irresponsible! Another grunt. Even if he isn't her Master, she doesn't want to see a human get hurt making this mistake. One final, determined noise. She'll get him down herself if that's what it takes.]
