[He's really only doing this because he's...fairly sure only Wei Wuxian and Pyra know his hexcode. So this is...basically anonymous, right?]
What would be an acceptable gift for a young maiden?
Anything related to cooking will not be considered.
[Look, he knows where his cooking skills are! And it's not in the kitchen.]

That'd kind of depend on the maiden. Or girl, or woman, or what have you. Some are into weapons, some are into flowers, some are into houseware, some are into pretty things.
[ After a couple of minutes... ]
Though a lot would appreciate the existence of the present, even if it's not really right. Unless they don't because they've got reason to be suspicious of them. Do you think she'd like a gift?
no subject
I don't know. [It's...easier to admit it like this.] She seemed sad about something.
[And he couldn't think of any other way to help.]

Flowers would be doable, I think.
[But then...]
What sort of flowers?
no subject
no subject
But no. After a ridiculously long time all he sends is...]
We're friends.

[Which is to say he has no idea.]
As for my intentions...it's nothing suspicious. She just seems sad.
[...writing that seemed stupid. "She seems sad"? If he weren't practically anonymous here he'd never dare to write something like that.]

If you would like to cheer someone up, I would recommend something that makes that sentiment clear. You said nothing to do with cooking, but couldn't you ask someone to help you with that? Others have said flowers, but there is something to be said of effort, too.
no subject
Wouldn't too much noticeable effort make the person receiving the gift feel indebted? I don't want to trouble her.
[But...the harder part to admit, the part he could only admit because this is near anonymous...]
And I don't know how to make the sentiment clear.

Jewelry
Fine clothes
A nice bottle of wine
A luxurious bed
Expensive flowers
If you were thinking about getting me a gift, you only needed to ask.

[Sierra...please.
...but only after he sends it, does it occur to him that he's lived in her house this entire time (minus the times he spent sleeping in his workshop) and apart from all the rather useless fussing he'd done after she died he'd never given her anything to thank her for letting him live there.
All things considered, he probably did owe her a present.]
What kind of flowers do you like?
no subject
the fact that he follows it up with a question like that is the only thing that saves him from her wrath. ]
I prefer white ones. Make sure there are no pests lurking on the petals.
no subject
Pests won't be a problem.
[Since he intended to make them out of metal. But...white flowers. The first thing he thinks of are plum blossoms.]
And what sort of jewelry do you prefer?

Is this gift an apology, a celebration, a representation of romantic feelings, or you just wanted to cheer them up?
no subject
There is nothing romantic happening here!
[But admitting why he wanted to do this was embarrassing too.]
I'm not sure why it matters but she seems sad for some reason.
[Which is to say, it's the last one.]

[But cooking is his go-to! Hmm...]
Flowers.

What kinds would be acceptable?
no subject
I'm not sure how many of these have their color back, though.
