Hello, this is Emma.
I've noticed that everyone is offering up really great ideas like meetings and clinics and I wanted to help out as well. I'll leave the the major stuff to the specialists but I figured out one way.

Sewing!
We've been here for a while now and I know some people have been struggling with the clothes we've found around town. Making something from scratch might be hard but I can definitely work with what's already here. I had to fix clothes all the time when the little ones tore something or hit growth spurts.
So if you want something hemmed or altered I can help with that!
Of course, everything is going to have to be gray still. But that's better than wearing the same thing all the time!

If anyone knows how to sew I would welcome the help, and would definitely want to learn more advance techniques.

I found a run down tailor shop in Ruga though. They might have supplies there if you want to try it?

Awesome! You found stuff around town too? An old store had some usable needles, pins, and threads.
There's fabric too, but I'm kind of worried what would everything will look like if we find a way to return their color. It's best to work with what we've got though.

Of course! Sewing machines haven't been around forever!
It's really not all that amazing but if you want to watch then I don't mind. It's nice to have someone to talk to while working. It can take a while if it's something complicated.

You're a major help, don't say otherwise! I wouldn't have cleared up the garden nearly as fast without your help.
Hemming is really, really easy. That's a perfect first project.

I can help out, if you need another pair of hands. I've been trying to alter some of the clothes here already. The more hands the better, right?

It's an ability I have. Making the tools is easier than making fabric though.

i was thinking something less destructive? i know i can help with things that involve heavy lifting or removing obstacles but it'd be nice if i could help out with other things too.

Isn't it just really efficient cleaning? But I can see the point on learning new skills. I always want to learn new things to help out as well. There's loads in the world I haven't even begun to try out or see, you know?
Dave already talked about us all meeting up to sew together. Haha. I hope my house is big enough.

Mending and embroidery mostly! I never had to make clothes from scratch before now.

And Gilda and the others were better at embroidery than me most of the time. But I've got the basics down!

[She was raised in a fake ye olde orphanage, of course she knows how to embroider. She's just too hyper to sit still for the entire time it takes to make something fancy.]

Of course! The more the merrier as well.
Thankfully all the clothes are baggy enough that there's more than enough fabric to work with.

The basics are what's most important, I think. Once you can do that, you can do anything. Is Gilda your friend, or your roommate?

That's true! With that and enough time you can figure something out.
Gilda's a friend from home. She loved fashion and always dreamed about going out and wearing whatever she wanted since our uniform was boring. It was pure white like the stuff around here. Haha.
She's a really sweet girl, I hope she's doing all right.

the clothes here are pretty ugly though huh
