User: #FFDF00 - Bestiary, an update, and an offering!!

Hi, Chroma! This is Izuku Midoriya. We got a lot of new people since the last time I posted, so I thought I'd introduce myself again in case we haven't met yet. Anyway, there's a few things I wanted to discuss.

[Oddly enough, even though the newcomers' texts have all gained color recently, Izuku's is still the default black.]

1. I've finished the bestiary of the creatures we've come across in the forest & town so far. If there's anything missing, let me know and I'll add it in. I'll do my best to keep this updated and open for anyone to access on the forum from now on, in case anyone goes into the forest and comes across any of these again. Even if we keep running into new creatures, knowing what to expect can still help a lot.

You can find the information here: ╭( ・ㅂ・)و✧
(ooc: pretend it's a link to another forum post)

So far there's just this digital version, but I can also work on a physical copy to put in the library if people want that? It'll be easier to include drawings of these creatures that way.

2. It looks like there's a clear trend in the kind of creatures that we're running into now. The majority of them are from some kind of mythology, all from different cultures. A friend of mine was able to analyze some samples brought back from the forest, and it turns out that these creatures don't have a history, as if they were created solely for us to run into while we're in there.

Right now, the bestiary only includes the ones we know for sure are around, but after hearing what my friend had to say, I think it would be a good idea to add a section for other well known mythological creatures as a precaution.

What do you guys think?

3. That brings me to the next point! If you let me borrow something of yours last time, you can come pick it up now! Or I could bring it to you, whatever works.

4. I have a manual charger now! If you have a small electronic device that you want charged, just let me know and I'd be happy to help you out! I think it's only enough to work on cellphones and things like that, but that's better than nothing, right?

This is Maribelle. Regarding number two, I believe it's an excellent idea, although I warn it will be meticulous. What's fantasy in one world is reality in another, or even nonexistent altogether.

Well, in my realm, we have pegasi, unicorns, and dragons, off the top of my head, and all of those are real.

As far as "monsters" go, we also have the Risen - human-like beasts with no heart, soul or mind.

There are several Pegasai and Unicorns within the Shepherds, with warriors who can ride them into battle. As for dragons, they're few and far between these days, I've never seen one myself, unless you count the manakete. They're a special type that has both dragon and human forms, but they're actual people like you and I, not just wild beasts.

Ask all you like about the Risen. I've fought more than enough to know plenty.

They're about as tame as your average horse. They can still get spooked and upset, but otherwise, all it takes is a gentle hand and training to get them to obey you.

As for the dragons of legend, they're as big as a mountain and impossibly strong, with more eyes and teeth than they could possibly need.

The Risen, we suspect, were created with magic. What type or how is still unknown. But they're not living in the sense you and I are - they don't need to eat or breathe. All it takes is a good, hard strike to destroy them, like a heavy blast of magic or a powerful strike of the sword. Then they begin to evaporate and leave nothing behind.

[is the concept "one at a time" something Izuku's heard of]

It was once told in legends they possessed healing powers, and as a result they were ridden by special warriors with healing magic, but since then we've come to realize they're really just ordinary animals.

Dragons of old were said to have magic of all kinds, fire included. They were limitless beings. As for the manakete, they're a race of dragons, you could say, but they're more like humans. They're also extremely rare, some thought to be long extinct. Using a certain stone, they can turn into their powerful dragon form or stay in a human form. As a result of their dragon blood, they age incredibly slowly - they can look like children for centuries.

As for the Risen, their numbers can be anywhere as small as five and as great as thirty.

They love us. The first one I meant, Nowi, she's centuries old but has the body and mind of a child. She's very adorable, and enjoys playing with everyone. But she can sometimes be more energetic than us, and not understand that we humans need to rest.

She had been captured by some slavers when we found her, and they'd taken her stone so she couldn't transform. Once we freed her, she vowed to stay with us and aid us in battle.

It can be seen as both a blessing and a curse. Who wouldn't want to live for eternity? But then watching all your loved, mortal ones pass away over and over, that would be a horror.

Nowi has yet to become so attached to people that it's hurt her yet. But we met another manakete, named Tiki. She had been in a deep sleep for centuries, and when she woke up and discovered her friends had been long gone...

You can imagine. Unlike Nowi, she appears slightly older, and does seem to be more wise than her as well. Although she isn't always the mature one - I have caught her blowing raspberries at those she's displeased at.

She will be. We're taking her along with us, same as Nowi.

They are strong, but physical strength is all they have. If you can avoid their blows, you'll be all right. But don't think torturing or pain will work, they don't feel any of it. Just take them down as hard and as fast as you can.

Well, to be quite honest, if any dragons from my legends showed up, we'd be doomed. The only way of stopping them were legendary swords of old, or the mystic Fire Emblem, a magical artifact embedded with jewels of power. And we have neither of those things.

Well, that is why they're called "legends". If they were that easy to defeat, it'd be more like a common fairytale.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the swords, but the Fire Emblem takes the shape of a large stone shield with four slots meant to hold the spheres. It's a family artifact from milord's royal line - owning it essentially means owning Ylisse. From what I can tell, it boosts your energy and strength to almost godlike levels.
