hey. my name is percy jackson. nice to meet you guys
so it's been almost a week since a lot of us got here and things still aren't making a lot of sense
yeah, I get how the quests work and I know what laptops are and I know we can't get out of here but there are other things that aren't making sense
I went to do some scouting to see if I could find anything about the water
it's weird, isn't it? the ocean's not supposed to be still and that usually means something's wrong so I went to check it out
couple of things:

-always take a buddy if you're going in the water
-almost all of the fish are mutated and they're not really helpful. most of them ignored me when I asked some questions
-the ocean floor's about thirty feet down, but there's a drop-off further from that if you keep swimming out there
-SOMETHING is there down past the drop-off. everything was dark even with a light source but something lives down there. I didn't get a good enough look but I got some of their fingerprints
-webbed and still finger-shaped if you're curious
-didn't get a head count either
-limbs went kind of numb
-pretty sure they're still down there

just thought it would help to know what we're working with since we know there are things like shadows in the woods and other stuff out there

[Sure enough there's knock on his door a little while later. Hi, hello, he's here.]

[hydrokinetics]

[Izuku knocks and Percy appears at the door moving incredibly slowly but standing upright so progress!! He's in his hoodie and jeans which helps but he grins at Izuku anyway when he sees him.]

Hey dude. That was fast.

[inheritance]

The town's not that big. [Izuku laughs a little before stepping inside.]

Where's Mrs. O'Leary? [Considering how huge she is, you'd think she'd be hard to miss.]

[hydrokinetics]

Out in the woods, probably. She's used to wandering around so I think she's scouting for me. She can take care of herself. [A grin.] Come on in. The house is empty right now.

[inheritance]

Not surprised about that! [Izuku doesn't doubt that the hell hound could hold her own against the creatures in the forest.]

So... [Once he's inside, Izuku turns toward Percy with a curious look.] Water powers? [He's guessing that's one aspect of it.] And it's tied to talking to fish somehow.

[hydrokinetics]

[There's an impressed sort of grin.]

You really pay attention, don't you? [He'll slowly seat himself on a chair in the living room and gesture for Izuku to do the same.] But yeah. Both of those are things I can do. Most of my powers are water-based but there's other stuff I can do. The water ones just helped for deep sea diving today.

[inheritance]

[Izuku just beams at him in response.]

It's my hobby. I like learning about people's powers. [An understatement, really. He joins Percy in the living room, sharp eyes following his movements for a moment.

The smile slowly turns into a concerned frown instead.]

Jackson-kun... are you injured? [He can't help but notice how carefully Percy seems to be moving right now.]

[hydrokinetics]

[A half-grin.] It's fine, man. It's nothing major. [Other than the burns are not his favorite? Ow.] Why's that a hobby anyway? Not that I'm complaining but you're the first person I've met who really does stuff like that.

[Is he avoiding talking about his injuries? Yes, probably. But they're really no big deal when it comes to information about the people here.]

[inheritance]

[Dodge all you want, Percy, but you can't escape the fussing!]

It doesn't look fine if you're having trouble moving normally. Did something else happen while you were underwater?

[hydrokinetics]

Uhh...I mean sort of? But it's really okay, I'm usually injured or about to die in some horrific kind of way.

[inheritance]

[Izuku stares at him.] Um, was that supposed to be reassuring?

At least let me look at the injuries and clean them up!

[hydrokinetics]

[Jeez, insistent aren't we?]

Izuku, come on...I promise it's fine. [...] Are you a healer?

[inheritance]

[Very insistent.]

Not exactly... [He continues staring at Percy dubiously. Why does he get the feeling that Percy won't actually contact a healer if he just leaves it at that?]

Do you want me to contact one?

[hydrokinetics]

Not exactly. [Because he and SOMEONE are the same!!!] I think they'll heal on their own if they're just burns.

[inheritance]

[Izuku squints at him even more.] Why don't you want to see a healer?

[A pause.]

Wait, burns? But...weren't you in the water?

[Usually the water in the harbor's too cold to deal with. Nowhere near the temperature needed to burn anyone.]

[hydrokinetics]

[Annnd we come back to the original point.]

Yeah, about that. There's some kind of monster down there but I have no idea what. [Haha let's forget about healing and get to the real problem, shall we?]

[inheritance]

The one you mentioned in your post. [Comprehension dawns now.]

You got close enough to get fingerprints--it burned you?

[Don't get your hopes up, Percy. You're not off the hook just yet.]

[hydrokinetics]

I think it might have been "they." There were a lot of fingers, Izuku. But yeah. They were pretty mad I was in the water, I think.

[inheritance]

A lot of fingers... [Izuku repeats slowly. And then it clicks.]

Jackson-kun! Don't tell me that's how you got the fingerprint samples...!

[hydrokinetics]

[Eheh.] Yeah...it was effect but not exactly what I was going for.
