hey. my name is percy jackson. nice to meet you guys
so it's been almost a week since a lot of us got here and things still aren't making a lot of sense
yeah, I get how the quests work and I know what laptops are and I know we can't get out of here but there are other things that aren't making sense
I went to do some scouting to see if I could find anything about the water
it's weird, isn't it? the ocean's not supposed to be still and that usually means something's wrong so I went to check it out
couple of things:
-always take a buddy if you're going in the water
-almost all of the fish are mutated and they're not really helpful. most of them ignored me when I asked some questions
-the ocean floor's about thirty feet down, but there's a drop-off further from that if you keep swimming out there
-SOMETHING is there down past the drop-off. everything was dark even with a light source but something lives down there. I didn't get a good enough look but I got some of their fingerprints
-webbed and still finger-shaped if you're curious
-didn't get a head count either
-limbs went kind of numb
-pretty sure they're still down there
just thought it would help to know what we're working with since we know there are things like shadows in the woods and other stuff out there

You managed to get fingerprints? So does that mean they're people? Or close enough, I suppose.

they were shaped like fingers but they didn't feel like them if that makes sense?

Also, you can talk to the fish?
no subject
but yeah! yeah, it comes with the territory
fish and other stuff that lives in the water
no subject
That's pretty cool! It's too bad the fish wouldn't talk to you, though.
Are you still feeling numb? Staying in the water here too long can have a really bad effect on your body....which I'm sure you've guessed by now.
no subject
it's always hit and miss. sometimes they're chatty and sometimes I have to bargain with them
noooo the numbness wore off at least...
but usually I don't have a problem staying in the water for a long time
kind of the opposite, actually

[PERCY... IMMEDIATELY GETTING INTO TROUBLE...]
Are you okay? What do you mean your limbs went kind of numb?
[...oh]
This is Minato, by the way.
no subject
oh hey!
I think I'm fine? but I mean my limbs went numb when their hands (fins? stumps? whatever?) touched me
not sure how, but it was almost like being paralyzed except I could still move
no subject
That sounds like the opposite of fine. Do you feel better now, or is it lingering?
no subject
I wish I got a better look at what they were but there were too many of them

I've been curious about the water myself.
Maybe these supposed merfolk you found have a city down there.
no subject
how far down can you go? it was way further than most people should probably go
it wouldn't be the first time I found undersea cities so that was part of why I wanted to get a better look
no subject
But I've been exploring ancient underwater ruins all my life.
And I can breathe in space now so maybe that applies to water too.
Haven't tried yet.
no subject
that sounds kind of cool. find anything interesting?
but uh. wow. space. haven't really met people who can do that so it might work out the same
if not i have ways to help people breathe down there
not a bad idea to test it out though

I'm curious how you managed to retrieve fingerprints from beneath the sea... Surely you didn't remove the creature's fingers entirely?
no subject
no, they got to keep all of their fingers
the prints just got burned into something I brought back to the surface. it helped so I could get a better look
no subject
Burned...?
For it to occur even underwater, was it something more similar to the sting of a jellyfish? I can't imagine many things would be capable of temperatures high or low enough for such a task, nor an acid that wouldn't be severely diluted in this case.
What did you bring with you, exactly?

So the ocean is as dangerous as the forest.
If it got its color back, the sea would probably come back to life.
[Though, the ocean usually isn't one stagnant color... will it come back more like the sky does, one hue at a time?]
no subject
that'd be worth another trip down there once things less-mutated showed up
but are quests the only way to bring the colors back?
no subject
There seem to be more ways to lose them, though.

no subject
what kind of tests did you do?
no subject
The harbor water leaves you feeling kind of cold after you drink it. Unnaturally so, I mean. The other water used to do the same, but since we noticed the color change, it doesn't seem to have that effect anymore. At the time, we didn't have any rain to compare with.
