Good morning. If I may, I'd like to make a request for some minor assistance, from anyone in the town who might possess the requisite expertise to assist me in a small endeavor of mine.

Recently, I came into possession of a cat; I expect some residents of Chroma may have seen it wandering around, as I believe it was a stray prior to my adopting it, and as such it is already accustomed to something of an independent lifestyle as opposed to that of a more domesticated housecat. She's rather distinctive — cream-white fur, with black ears, face, paws, and tail. Her name is Pearl, though I'm not certain if she's had that name long enough as yet to recognize it as her own. If you should happen to see her around, please be kind to her; if you happen to see her getting up to something she shouldn't, please either let me know or simply apprehend her and bring her back home.

In the interest of responsible pet ownership, I'd like to have her fitted with some sort of collar and tag to help identify her when she decides to take herself for a constitutional. Ideally, I'd also like it to include a bell or rattle of some variety, though that's largely a whim for my own benefit, as it would make it easier to identify when she's getting up to mischief around the house.

Assistance in this endeavor would be much appreciated, and I'll naturally recompense your time and industry accordingly — with the offer to prepare a favorite meal of yours, perhaps.

Familiar with her typical haunts, are you? I'll admit I've rather been wondering where she goes, when she takes herself for a stroll.

That she's been at the docks is hardly surprising; she used to spend a great deal of time there in her previous circumstances as well. I wonder if she thinks she's likelier to be fed if she finds her way back there.

I take it they've not been fighting, if you've seen them together more than once.

I acquired one recently, yes. She was residing in the pocket dimension that belonged to me last month, and it seemed wrong to leave her there, somehow. So I brought her back with me.

And I'd be much obliged, thank you. I'm thinking of trying to get her to eat something other than fish, but it's slow going.

I'm glad we've all just accepted as an inevitability that there will be kittens from this.

In the event that that's the case, I would imagine that tags for the kittens would be ideal, yes. Though of course they won't have names until they're born.

Judging from some earlier comments, I would think you might have some bigger concerns than simply finding a collar for your cat. Kittens can be quite troublesome, you see.

Truly, I don't know how it is that I always seem to end up plagued with kittens. Two of my acquaintances have a regular knack for finding and rescuing them, and I always seem to end up in the middle of it all.

Ah, every social circle needs at least one person to be the designated caretaker, I suppose. It's good that your acquaintances have someone so responsible to rely on!

I'm not sure I would call kittens a plague, however. They can be a handful, but aren't they rather lovely?

I see her around often, actually. Don't worry, aside from the aforementioned, she hasn't been getting in to much trouble.

Out of curiosity, though: are you familiar with the signs of early pregnancy in cats? There are a few things you might want to keep an eye on.

Yes, I've come to learn that she may well have found herself a gentleman caller. She's a precocious girl, so it's hardly surprising, but still — that was rather fast.

I'd be pleased for any information and advice you could offer, actually. I'm hardly n expert, and I want to do what's best for her, as best I can.

Cats reproduce and they do so quickly. I'm not surprised. All my girls back home are fixed; I'm pretty sure Pennyworth is just happy to have found a female companion who is... receptive to his advances.

Next time she's around and feels gracious enough to allow you to rub her belly, check her nipples. If they start to darken or become enlarged, she's definitely pregnant. Watch for vomiting, too. Occasionally cats get morning sickness.
