Is there anyone that has any skill at fixing walls? I fear that one became damaged during the chaos. It does not feel right to leave it partially ruined.
[ Especially since it pretty much has a Shen Qingqiu hole in it due to him being punched into said wall. Sigh!
But hm, moving away from that for a second, he thinks he can finally talk about something while having it sound like "nothing." Idle wondering of a mind getting used to this place! ]
This is a different thread all together. Sometimes, fate says that there is nothing that can be done in order to save one person. And sometimes, you must be the one to bring harm to the person you cherish. But still, you would like to hope even if you were the one to hurt them that they'll grow strong and happy one day, right?
[ If this is something that everyone can read, then... then! ]
The stories that we create for ourselves need not be tragedies if we do not let them be. Even if there is that moment, it can still end well. [ Holy fuck, does he hope that it will! ]
Anyway, the wall is still a problem so I'm hoping for a happy end for that, too.

Did something happen...? As long as they're not dead, they have a chance to change for the better.
You're the philosophizing type, aren't you?
#EBF5FB
[ A lot happened! A lot! I don't even know how to fucking start and begin! But to say it out-loud... I brought this on myself, though! ]
Something did. This teacher has been thinking on it, and knows there is nothing that could have prevented it.
I wouldn't say that I am a philosophizing type, however. I would say that there are thoughts that are so loud that we cannot keep them quiet and we should not attempt to do so, either. If they are that loud, it means that we should speak them, don't you agree?
no subject
If you can't change it or prevent it, then just learn from it. That's the best idea, I think.
I don't know. I usually don't have a lot of time to think about things like that. I mean, my best friend fought me until he passed out during a tournament, but I don't know if that's really the same thing as harming a person you cherish. We were just classmates at the time.
no subject
[ I appreciate the advice. I knew it would happen. I absolutely do. I'm not sure if I can learn from it, but saying that is definitely spitting in the face of someone trying to help. ]
Yes, I will do my best to learn and teach others to not be so foolish.
[ That's really going a little too far in training! A little too far! But I suppose that's how Liu-shidi would do things. I can't really say much about it! ] No, I don't think that would be considered the same. That was something you went into together knowing one would be hurt. I speak of the times that you know someone will be hurt but they do not know it.
no subject
Huh... I don't think I've ever been in a situation like that. I've been on the other end, but that guy's a bastard to begin with. [Shouto just can't stop himself from badmouthing his father at all times.]

sometimes there is truly nothing that can be done for a person or people. if they can continue to survive, if they can move on despite the things you have done, that result is happy enough.
i also have experience with wall repair, though i am somewhat unfamiliar with the structures in this place.
no subject
You do? Well, it seems like something we can work through to get more acquainted with it. [ If they're going to stay here, it might be a good idea! Fix a few places up that need it, etc. etc! Though, he feels a bit mean in making a young -- wait, ah, gender? Gender, Xie Lian? -- figure that out with him. ]
no subject
it does seem we'll be living here for a while...it would be prudent to know how to use and repair the things in this new environment. working together would certainly make things more interesting. [By "use" he means he's still figuring out this newfangled computer, please excuse the really long breaks between replies, Shifu.]
no subject
[ Just gotta figure out what to do about it! But he'll be fine! He'll have over one-thousand wives so he'll have to be strong and resilient for them. And maybe attempt to be a little more picky about who is in his harem?! ]
It would! The more that we gain, the more that we'll be able to do for those that have offered us their hands these trying few days. [ Ah, right. ] And if it gets to be too tough, let this teacher know and we can take breaks!

there is no need to worry about me, i can pull my share of work1
!
i should say the same to you, in fact. overworking yourself is a bad course of action for anyone, regardless of the circumstance.
[That's not counting himself though, of course.]

Also this post reads like some sort of motivational poster... ] If fate says that you must be the one to bring harm to someone you cherish... must you really just accept it?
[ She doesn't like the sounds of that. ] It sounds too cruel.
Pyra

You can avoid accepting it in your heart, but fate is fate.
I'm sorry that you have to hear [ This whining! I got a chance to get on a forum again and I'm acting like a whiner! I'm sorry! This is so uncool! ] such lamentations from me.
no subject
...But what do you mean by “fate is fate”? Are you speaking of the ends of the stories this world and the puppets have wanted us to play out? Because I do agree on your point that we don’t need to let them end in tragedy if we can help it.
Though if you’re referring to some sort of prophecy or fortune telling... isn’t that a little dubious to call it fate?
no subject
[ Yeesh! I absolutely do! But, well, I agree! There doesn't have to be a tragic end! I'm trying to veer away from it! Veer far, far, far the fuck away from it! I can only hope I've gained enough affection that I won't be killed on the fucking spot!! ]
I speak of that, yes. Of the fate that says there are some actions that must be done no matter what. But what you say is also correct, even if we cannot change what is done, that does not mean that a sad ending is awaiting us.
Even if it is known that we must bring harm to those we love and watched over, it does not mean that some reconciliation cannot happen after. It does not mean that everything must end sadly.
no subject
I... don’t know, that still sounds sad. It would be better to not bring the other person harm at all.
If you don’t mind me asking, is this coming from experience, and are you able to predict the future or divine fate yourself?
[ Honestly curious over here. ]

[...well. That touched on a lot of issues that hit really close to home. And now she's worried about him.]
i don't believe in a future that can't be changed. there is no such thing as a despair that can't be overcome.
maybe the past isn't always happy. maybe we've been hurt or hurt others. maybe there were people we couldn't save. but even then a happy future is possible as long as we don't give up. a future where we can learn to forgive others and forgive ourselves.
after all, there's no such thing as a meaningless past. if it was painful, then we just have to become stronger, so we can find others who are hurting the way we had been and do for them what we wish someone had done for us.
that's what i think anyway.
[And after a short pause she added as a way to identify herself:]
thanks for looking for someone to fix the wall, by the way.
no subject
Those sentiments are most kind. This teacher has no right to return them to you. I hope you will allow me to hold onto them. [ Some nice words I can hold as I feel a ticking clock waiting for my MOTHERFUCKING DOOM!!! ]
I said I would seek someone out to help you, and I see no reason to break that promise that we had, Akashi Kaoru. [ Thank you for naming yourself!! I wouldn't have guess otherwise!! Hello! Welcome to my crying corner! Starring ME! ]
no subject
but is it okay to ask what's going on? you're not in some kind of trouble, are you?
[being called by her full name like that is...different. But she'll get used to it.]
but if you find someone...there's actually a hole in a wall in a place i stay in in bluo.
it's not my fault, [It's totally her fault.] but it'd be nice to get it fixed.
[1/2]
[ What can I fucking say?! I'm in the worst kind of trouble! The worst kind! The kind that a plot device meets when it loses its usefulness! The AXE!! A painful one at that! ]
I hurt someone dear to me. I knew it was coming and yet there was nothing I could do to avoid it. [ Isn't this too heavy to weigh on a teenager's shoulders?! By this time in xianxia novels, the character is an adult! But I can't view her like that! I absolutely am not going to just cry on her shoulder about being a shit!! Who does that?! Only real and honest fucking scum! ] I did something wrong but even though I did, I like to hope that there is a future where that person is all right.
no subject
There is a hole in another wall? Are you all right?
no subject
that's a terrible position to be in.
[She gets it. She wasn't in that exact position but she's had to make awful calls in the field and, well. She knows people who have been in that exact situation.]
but you know, i think this is a situation where just hoping isn't enough.i think you need to help that person reach that future. for their sake and yours.
[It's kind of sweet that he's worried.]
don't worry about me! i'm actually really strong, you know!

absolutely fine
This teacher found many fairytales in the library. Some that were very close to one another. The endings for some were dark. The endings for others were happier and brighter. The story leading up to it was close to being the same, however.
All memories and stories are able to change and become happy endings. [ Mental gymnastics are fun and not at all unhealthy. Says one man with no scientific proof. ]
YAY
Then how does one... change the ending?
woot woot cold today
[ He pushed Luo Binghe down into the Endless Abyss. He saw the hope in his disciple's eyes turn as soon as he did it. He heard the fucking System talk of heartbreak. He felt --
-- but in falling, Luo Binghe will unlock all his new abilities and golden finger. His disciple will become the protagonist able to have over one thousand wives and be loved more now than he was in the past. He will be strong and cool and --
-- so the years waiting for his return will be filled with what they are filled with. Too many emotions to name. ]
As the perception changes on what happened, so do the series of events until it fits with what the person wants. No one wants a sad story to have a sad ending. After all the suffering, there should be a reward, right?
Pfft
... sigh I need to remember to look at the subject
