Hi, this is Joshua.

After we did one of the quests, Estelle and I found a crate full of live chickens in our house. We figured that a steady supply of eggs is probably going to be more useful in the long run than a few meals' worth of meat, so we're working on getting them settled in here.

[ Also, let's be real, eating them just seemed too mean after the chocobos decided these were clearly their tiny adopted offspring. ]

I'm not sure what the yield is going to look like yet, so we haven't figured out how much we'll have to share, or if they're even going to taste like anything yet. But in the meantime, while I think we've figured out how to get the yard fenced in well enough to prevent any escape artists, if you happen to see any of them wandering loose, we'd appreciate it if you could bring them back or let us know so we can collect them.

Well, do the chickens have color? And... do they look like chickens? [ And not weird mix breed of chicken and dinosaur. ] That's good to know, though! I'll keep an eye out.

It's not obvious, because they're naturally black, but their beaks and feet seem to be fine. I'm hoping that means the eggs will come out with color too, but I'm not taking anything for granted.

And yes, they are normal chickens. Not like...some of the wildlife we've been seeing.

No, unfortunately, and intrusion without detection was something of a job skill for me, so I have a very good grasp on what to look for.

Out of curiosity, did you find evidence of how they got put there? It's great to have the chickens, of course, but it's a little unnerving to know an unknown person went into your house. I guess it's further proof of all of us being monitored, though.

I didn't. I know a lot about breaking and entering without being caught, so I know what to look for, but I didn't find any of it.

How many chickens did you end up with? A crate seems like a rather large amount. Are they already adult size?

They're already grown, and they had some breathing room in there. We have five altogether.

Keeping them for eggs sound like the best course of action. If there are any resources you may need help acquiring to tend to them, I'm certain I or others will be very willing to assist.
