[ User #000033 apparently won the text color lottery, because you can hardly tell his color is there. The very opposite of eye-searing! ]
Hi, this is Joshua.
After we did one of the quests, Estelle and I found a crate full of live chickens in our house. We figured that a steady supply of eggs is probably going to be more useful in the long run than a few meals' worth of meat, so we're working on getting them settled in here.
[ Also, let's be real, eating them just seemed too mean after the chocobos decided these were clearly their tiny adopted offspring. ]
I'm not sure what the yield is going to look like yet, so we haven't figured out how much we'll have to share, or if they're even going to taste like anything yet. But in the meantime, while I think we've figured out how to get the yard fenced in well enough to prevent any escape artists, if you happen to see any of them wandering loose, we'd appreciate it if you could bring them back or let us know so we can collect them.

Yeah, what Joshua said! Everyone, be nice to pancakes, muffin and all the rest, ok?
[.....Estelle why are you like this.]

I still can't believe you named them all after food.

[Joshua really, you know this girl thinks with her stomach.]
They don't seem to mind.

And yes, they are normal chickens. Not like...some of the wildlife we've been seeing.

I'm not making suggestions either way, mind, just ensuring I'm familiar with the plan as it stands.

[ like estelle, he’s sort of seconding this desire for everyone to be nice to the chickens! but also, he’s just really stoked about how adorable they are. ]

[ spot goes wherever he damn well pleases, but the chickens... muffin and pancakes and eggs benedict and all their friends... dextera wants to hold one, indoors. a pet to call his own. ]

I guess that's pretty useful, but somehow I wasn't expecting something so mundane.

Any idea where the crate might have come from? Labeling? Signs of someone new in your home?
[It's a long shot and he's doubts anything will come of it, but it's worth asking, just in case.]

[ No closer to solving any mysteries, but at least...they get food? ]

[Not to complain about a pile of knives, but.]
Keeping them for eggs sound like the best course of action. If there are any resources you may need help acquiring to tend to them, I'm certain I or others will be very willing to assist.
[You know. For the sake of eggs. Mmmm.]
