Quest 67 certainly is something, isn't it? They do seem to be escalating in what they're asking everyone to do.

Though it does make me wonder; has anyone in this place died here? For all it's wants and purposes this place doesn't seem so keen to keep it's inhabitants alive more recently.

Ryo's gone home.

[He doesn't have a lot more to say about it than that. People should know, but there's no point in being upset about it on the network.]

by the way, we all agree no one's going to try quest 67, right?

#030066 - A Report

It’s been a long time. We have many new people here. My name is Dextera.

A few weeks ago, some others and I were able to defeat the powerful creature in the woods that Ryo discovered. When we kept walking after it, we found that the area beyond it was strangely calm and safe. It was a respite unlike anything I’ve ever seen that deep in the woods. We even saw one or two animals that were completely normal. If you’ve seen any of the usual animals from the woods before, you must understand how strange this is.

It was a small area, but it felt “right.”

The second update is that I recently came back from the woods again with Damian. Because the story from #FFFFFF keeps updating, I thought now was a good time to see if we could find any evidence of that man.

After a long time, and I’m sorry if we scared anyone by disappearing, we were able to find what we think were his bones, plus a locket with the picture of a beautiful man and a colorful feather inside of it.

That’s all. I hope everyone is well.

[Unlike others, Prompto's as cheery and invested as ever, so it's hard even for him to pin down anything that might be wrong.

But something definitely is. Forum user #FFF59D, one of the yellowest of yellows, makes a post that seems perfectly reasonable to him.]

so you guys remember that near death quest that everyone was 100% sure was a bad idea??

i'm open for it, on a couple conditions.

i. whatever you do doesn't actually HURT me, i'm not here to get laid up in bed for weeks or even hours! who has time for that??? you can try to scare me or whatever or push me off a roof but if i get more than a bruise we're not friends anymore. (╬ Ò ‸ Ó)

ii. you're gonna owe me a favor, since that's only fair, right?? there aren't that many yellows in town and you can't do the quest w/o a yellow. you can go hunting with me in the woods or smth but if that isn't your speed, we can negotiate!

it doesn't have to be paid right away anyway, doesn't look like any of us are going anywhere anytime soon. u know it's been almost a year since i got here? and some ppl have been here even longer! wild, right?

anyway if you wanna do it, you can contact me here or just come find me. this is prompto argentum if u don't know my hex code. i'm the blond guy always dressed in black with the chocobo/chicken hair, i'll b around.

Ciao. It’s Caramia.

I have news for everyone that, up until now, I have never found the right time to share. Though, with these new quests showing up, it’s never been a better time. Hopefully, it’ll serve as a reminder before anyone does anything too rash.

Kyrie and I entered the forest a while ago, and to spare the journey details, we eventually found a book. After some time, it allowed me to ask a question. So, I used the opportunity to ask it if there was any way we could prepare ourselves for the dangers of this town.

In return, the book read “Strengthen your bonds, positive or negative” and that “the greatest risk you face is losing sight of that.”

While I am not one to say that every book is telling the truth, this seems to be a pretty sound goal to keep track of, considering what we know of the town. Just remember to stay safe and look out for one another.

HEY!! i have a GREAT idea re: the quest about new experiences!!! AND it's a fun idea too. ((σ(≧ε≦o)))
LET'S PLAY NEVER HAVE I EVER!!!!!!! that way we'll know a bunch of stuff we could all try out together for the quest!
i know traditionally it's more of a teen sleepover thing, but we can do it right here on the forum, no pjs necessary! (unless you want to wear those on your own time lolol.)
for those who don't know the game, here's how you play:

i. you make a comment here and start it with "never have i ever ______________________." and you fill in the blank with something you've never done. protip: it's better to pick something interesting u think other people might have done, bc then they have to tell you if they did. and maybe pick something you want to do for questy purposes!
ii. normally, anyone else playing who's done the thing you named would have to take a drink or suffer some other penalty, but if we're doing it online there's really no way to enforce that. so just do what you want i guess lmao, as long as you speak up!
iii. as other people confess their never-have-i-evers, read them and reply around! you're bound to find someone who can help you learn how to do whatever thing it is you've never done, or meet someone else who's never had that experience, either. it's a bonding thing!!
iv. PROFIT!! (literally, if you find a red to do a thing with and can get that sweet sidequest loot! (๑˃ᴗ˂و))

i'll comment with an example of my own but treat this post like a free-for-all dudes! go forth, make friends, and turn those nevers into evers!! (≧ω≦)ゞ

((ooc: Threadjacking on this post is highly encouraged! Consider it like an actual open forum post. Have fun, kids!))

[Minato is finally going to address the network! Ooooh, aaaah.]

Hey...it's Minato. I haven't really been counting every single day because sometimes things went wrong or there were those kidnapping instances and things like that, but...

Anyway, point is, isn't it getting close to a year now that we've been here? I'm not really sure of the exact day but we must be getting close. It's weird to think about, but it's kind of nice too. To think that we've been given all of this time that we otherwise wouldn't have had together.

[Yeah, together. Definitely not just in general.]

Well, it was just a thought. Like maybe we should do something for it, or something... I don't know if "celebrate" is really the right word, but it doesn't feel right leaving it without doing anything at all either.

Regardless, I guess one thing we should really consider is getting together again to talk about the things we've found or learned. It's been a long time since we've done any meeting up or chatting about that sort of thing. Organizing something like that sounds like a lot of work though, so maybe not.

That's all. Thanks for reading.

Good day, everyone. This is Akechi.

It has come to my attention that visions are a common occurrence in this town, and I have reason to believe I am not the only one who has been graced with them on more than one occasion. Around two months ago, I saw a vision of tall tower in the woods, from which there was a shining spill of hair, acting as a makeshift way to climb up. Once I found myself inside, there was a large group of people from the Town; some were familiar faces, others not so much, but regardless, they were all covered in long blonde hair, and looking rather... distressed.

More recently, I saw a man in red, waiting at the edge of the woods. Every day, he came to the same spot with a sad look on his face, but no matter how long he stared into the woods, nobody ever came out from them. When he returned to that spot one last time, all he did was rest three flowers at the edge of the woods -- one red, one blue and one yellow, and then he turned away.

The reason I'm sharing these is because, while I can't say with certainty, I have a strong feeling these are connected to the Town's history; the latter may have been a glimpse of the past, and the former, a hint at the future, in the shape of a well-known fairytale like the many this place seems to be so fond of. If more of you have had similar visions, and if you are willing to share them, I believe it would be beneficial to all of us; by pooling this information together, we can try to figure out the events leading up to our arrival, as well as prepare as best as possible to any curses that might fall upon us in the coming months.

Thank you for your attention.

[ His font is this shade of red! Also, Akira may threadjack if he has something to say. ]

Hello. This is Ryo Asuka. A while ago, Akira Fudo and I went into the forest to observe the mutated wildlife and learn more about the origins of the quest monsters.

The regular animals reproduce just fine, despite their mutations; they have clear family units with children and we even found eggs in a nest. The mutations appear to be entirely random and aren't passed down from parent to offspring. I also observed several species that are completely out of place in this climate, such as bearded dragons, a genus of reptiles endemic to Australia. (For those not familiar with Australia, it's a continent known for its deserts and generally hot climate.)

When we tried to find where the quest monsters originate from, we ended up walking in circles. It felt like we were going in the right direction, but we found no origin point at all. We eventually gave up and decided to just look for the quest monsters and found a large group of harpies almost immediately. Unlike with the regular wildlife, there were no young harpies around and we found no eggs in their nests either. Of course, the lack of eggs can be explained by it being in the middle of winter, but it really seems as though the quest monsters don't reproduce at all and are dropped into the woods specifically for the quests.

We then headed deep into the woods and encountered a strange, powerful creature. It didn't look like any mythological creature I'm familiar with, so I've attached a sketch in case anyone is able to identify it.

[ Pretend there's a sketch here! It's kind of rudimentary since Ryo isn't the best artist around, but he gets the important details across: A strange faceless creature with limbs like branches. ]

Bullets barely grazed it and it attacked with sharp appendages capable of tearing through flesh and claws coated with some sort of poison—after it scratched me, fatigue began to set in immediately and it felt as though it was draining my body of energy. We quickly realized that the two of us wouldn't be able to defeat it so we retreated. It took me several days to recover from the poison and the scratch healed much slower than expected.

This is just conjecture on my part, but I believe this creature might be some sort of guardian that doesn't want us to get past a certain point. If we could defeat it, maybe we'd find something worthwhile. I've heard other people have had similar encounters; if you've met anything like it deep in the woods, any sharing of information would be appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I have a simple question to ask: What sorts of traditions do you have back home centered around this time of year? What is your favorite?

There are many of us who are experiencing our first holiday away from home; so let's bring a bit of home to Chroma for the holidays, in whatever way we can! After everything we've been through, I believe we should take time to celebrate who and what is most important to us.

Yours,
Lux

USER #030066 | A DISCOVERY

It’s Dextera.

Guren and I recently returned from a trip into the woods. We’re unhurt, but we weren’t without our trials. Our final encounter was with a mysterious woman who asked us each a question. I’m sorry that I can’t share the details of those questions, but they were intended to present us with a difficult, painful choice.

Even now, I’m not sure why she accepted our answers, but we were rewarded with our selection of items. Of the three things presented to us, we chose to take a journal written by one of the former residents of the town.

Without repeating everything that he wrote here, I can summarize what we found important.

1. The Town’s districts used to be much more discrete. Romance between the residents of separate districts was bound to fail, which seems to be the focus of the story being revealed to us by #FFFFFF, but the writer explains other small difficulties of trying to intermingle as well. I don’t think there were any laws in place, but the social tensions were discouraging enough.

2. The woods weren’t always the danger they seem to be to us today.

3. Even so, near the end of what’s written in the journal, the writer mentions that the colors of people around town are fading, and that he’s beginning to fear the woods in a way that he never had before. Along with the color disappearing from the people, it’s as we’ve seen in circumstances like this before. Their joy disappeared.

4. The last entry is about his best friend going missing. After that, the pages are empty.

I wanted to present this information as objectively as possible, but based on everything we saw in the woods, and the sickness that spread throughout so many of us when the Sirens attacked, I have to say this: the connections we’ve formed in this town are critical. They are our strength and our weakness. The past few weeks have been kind to us, but I’m afraid of what that could mean.

If anyone would like to see the journal, feel free to ask. That’s all.

My name is Valvatorez, a demon vampire from the Netherworld. At home I am a Prinny Instructor. Several people have no idea what a Prinny is or looks like. I've drawn you all a picture with the limited abilities of this laptop.

They're normally much bluer than depicted here. This is what sinful human souls are stitched into when they reach the Netherworld.

I am a "yellow". If you need assistance in any quest that involves fighting I will make myself available. It seems the quests that are up at this moment require either blues or reds, except ruining somebody's day. That one is a free for all. If you would like me to ruin your day, I will oblige.

There is a growing store of fish in the ice house. Not all of them have color. Feel free to take what you need.

Addressed to all:

Now that things have settled again after the recent incident, I want to make an offering.

As a child, and into my adult years, I underwent spiritual training on a daily basis to forge a bond with the ancient gods of my land. The purpose of this training was to unlock myself to the world, and gain its wisdom in the process. Though it was a long process, I was successful.

In times of struggle and strife, it can be difficult to figure out where one should turn. It's easy to feel abandoned, and harder to feel united, and you may question if there is any care in the grand scheme of the universe. No one person won't ask themselves if they should take their sufferings and bottle them inside, or reveal them to the world with the fear of judgment. To take hammer to the wall that shields the vulnerable heart is no easy task. Some don't want to break it. Others need help.

To insert an opinion into this, I no longer trust in the higher beings on this realm who brought us here to be of any help. They want us to restore their color, but don't care to grant us any protections in danger. So we must help ourselves, and each other, in times of disillusionment. I've come to feel very strongly about this following the sirens kidnapping.

The purpose of this posting is such: I want to offer myself to others as a spiritual guide. If you feel yourself conflicted, or feeling you have lost your path, or if you want to pray with someone beside you, then you may request me. I ask for nothing in return other than your patience and belief. More so in yourself than me.

If you have questions you may place them here. Comments and discussion into these topics are also accepted.

[WOW, amazing, this isn't Bruce Wayne pretending to be his son. This text sounds so different!! Like a tiny turd child.]

A community board is now established in the center of town to promote the accessibility of important information. Try not to clog it with anything useless or confusing for new people.

Anyone tampering unnecessarily or destroying the board will answer to me.

[Those visiting the board will see it has already been decorated with a map of Chroma and a garden list, but most of the space on the front and back is left empty for others to adorn it with whatever they would like.]

[ hi, it's bruce. he has this horrible color and is being nosy again. ]

Two questions.

1) Of the items received and brought back from most recent events, has anyone gained something that can be used for the whole town? Things such as seeds, bandages, medicine, etc. It might be worthwhile to throw together a resource pool if it hasn't been done so already.

2) If you could pick something at all from home that would help you get through the day here, what would it be? A type of food, clothing you prefer, your favorite flower. Things like that. If you're comfortable with sharing, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks,

Bruce.

To my fellow refugees:

At long last I have completed a Map of the town and would like to share it with you all. I am far from a cartographer, having only made maps of interiors before this; nonetheless, I hope that it will be of some use.

I must also offer my thanks to Monsieur Bruce and his associates for producing a great many copies of this map. If you would like to have one for yourself, please stop by my home in Ruga - it's the house with red roses blooming in front. Otherwise, I have posted one in the Town Hall building in Ruga for all to view.

That's all that I have to say for today. Be well!

Yours truly,
Lupin

USER: #2471A3 - Minor Crafting Assistance Requested

Good morning. If I may, I'd like to make a request for some minor assistance, from anyone in the town who might possess the requisite expertise to assist me in a small endeavor of mine.

Recently, I came into possession of a cat; I expect some residents of Chroma may have seen it wandering around, as I believe it was a stray prior to my adopting it, and as such it is already accustomed to something of an independent lifestyle as opposed to that of a more domesticated housecat. She's rather distinctive — cream-white fur, with black ears, face, paws, and tail. Her name is Pearl, though I'm not certain if she's had that name long enough as yet to recognize it as her own. If you should happen to see her around, please be kind to her; if you happen to see her getting up to something she shouldn't, please either let me know or simply apprehend her and bring her back home.

In the interest of responsible pet ownership, I'd like to have her fitted with some sort of collar and tag to help identify her when she decides to take herself for a constitutional. Ideally, I'd also like it to include a bell or rattle of some variety, though that's largely a whim for my own benefit, as it would make it easier to identify when she's getting up to mischief around the house.

Assistance in this endeavor would be much appreciated, and I'll naturally recompense your time and industry accordingly — with the offer to prepare a favorite meal of yours, perhaps.

#ffa0a8 | Gardens?

#ffa0a8

Hi everyone! Hopefully this isn't too weird of a question, but my friend Riku was telling me there are some gardens in the Flavo district! What I'm curious about is whether or not anyone has been using them or trying to fix them up.

If you are, how's it been going? Could I maybe help? And if not, would anyone want to help?

Oh! And also, because I was able to travel home, I managed to bring back a lot of flowers and some gardening supplies thanks to my friends! I've been collecting flower pots around town to plant them, so if you need a little color in your life let me know! I'm up for trading and teaching people on how to take care of them!

Thanks!!

USER: #A5211F - Bogeyman (Forward dated to the 26th)

(color)

The bogeyman that was hiding in town has finally been defeated, but it was at the cost of three lives. Dave, John and Dextera. I couldn't save them. I'm sorry.

Okuyasu and Asuka are badly injured, but are currently being treated for it.
[He is too? He's bleeding all over his laptop, but it's fine.]

Dextera's body changed into something else, but the other two are still remaining. I think they both have family here, or something close. You can contact me and I'll tell you where they are, so you can arrange a burial or whatever you think is best.

I take full responsibility for this. There's still going to be a defense force meeting at the beginning of next month, so we can talk about it then. I know there could still be people missing from the werewolf thing, too, so keep your eyes open for them, alive or otherwise. If you have questions, I'll try to answer them.

That's all.

[Of course, after this, he'll be in his room at his laptop, so people are free to come bother him. He's covered in blood, most notably a stab wound straight through his chest at the heart, and it looks like he's only partially been able to deal with that. He's not bleeding out as quickly? But his healing isn't working. He's only just barely come back to consciousness from Mahiru taking over.]
